Independent Prescriber
Are you experiencing a new or ongoing concern regarding the health of your eyes?
At Optomeyes Opticians our resident optometrist Karen is a qualified Independent Prescribing Optometrist. This means that she can prescribe appropriate medications and give management advice related to most front surface eyes issues that you may encounter.
These include a wide range of common ocular conditions such as; conjunctivitis, dry eyes and blepharitis in addition to less common issues such as: anterior uveitis, corneal ulcers and perform foreign body removal where necessary.
The symptoms of many of these conditions can include redness, irritation, discharge, sensitivity to light and reduced vision. These symptoms may only be short term but in some more complex cases there may be a requirement for longer term management plans that Karen, our Independent Prescriber, can advise upon.
In the majority of cases, where you have appropriate NHS entitlement, these appointments and prescriptions are covered by the NHS so there would be no additional cost.
